Do you have a missing tooth? Teeth can be lost due to a variety of factors including tooth decay, gum disease, injury or trauma, smoking, and even age. At Omega Family Dental in Little Rock, Arkansas, our dentist Dr. Rebecca Barfield is pleased to offer restorative dentistry for our patients with missing teeth–whether it is one or several. Our restorative dental options for our patients include dental bridges, crowns, dentures–both complete and partials–to restore a natural looking smile.
So let’s take a look at some of the options available to replace missing teeth!
Dental Implants: These are the most natural-looking replacements for lost teeth. They are stable, last longer than other options, and keep the jawbone under the missing tooth stable so that it doesn’t deteriorate, maintaining facial structure.
Dental Bridge: Tooth-supported bridges are designed to repair damaged teeth as they are ground to allow adding a bridge across the teeth that will then hold the crown.
Partial Dentures: A partial denture is used if you are missing multiple teeth but have remaining natural teeth. A partial denture often includes a thin framework or clasps that attach to the natural teeth for a secure fit.
Complete Denture: A complete denture is used to replace all of the teeth in a full dental arch. We may suggest a complete denture to replace all of the teeth in both arches or just one, depending on your individual needs. Our dentist may suggest using a denture adhesive for improved stability.
