Adjusting to New Dentures
At first, your dentures may feel strange or uncomfortable. As time goes on and your cheek and tongue muscles become accustomed to them, these issues should fade. If you do not adjust to your new dentures after a few weeks or months, please visit Jolly Family Dentistry to see if they need to be adjusted. Patients often need to have one or more follow-up appointments to get the right fit, so do not be shy about making an appointment.
Eating With Dentures
You may worry that eating will be difficult or uncomfortable with dentures. It is true that eating with dentures is a bit of an adjustment, but once you become used to them, you will be able to eat most foods with ease. When you first begin wearing dentures, eat soft foods. As time goes on, reintroduce firmer types of foods. Chew with both sides of your mouth to avoid dislodging them.
